FRANK LAMPARD WANTS BRAZILIAN WINGER WILLIAN TO STAY AT CHELSEA AMID INTERESTS FROM ARSENAL AND SPURS.
The stories regarding Willian's future is ready to run as we approach the summer transfer window. The brazilian winger has already showed his desire to stay at Chelsea and in London as he would love to continue leaving in the capital.
However, the 31 year old has failed to secure a new deal having his current contract expiring at the end of the season, meaning that he can have negotiations happening from other teams and would leave for free once the season is done.
The problem now lies with the offer on the table. Chelsea have offered Willian an extension but the former Shaktar Donesk man wants a three year extention whereas Chelsea have a rule of only offering a year contract extension to players over the years of 30.
Now, reports suggest that Arsenal and Spurs are interested in the winger's signature and services. Now transfer expert Duncan Castles has lifted the lid on what's supposedly going on at stamford bridge.
Speaking to transfer window podcast, Castles claims that Frank Lampard is trying to convince Chelsea that Willian is a big part of his long term plans.
Castles started,"Willian wants to stay at Chelsea, wants to stay in London and his family is very happy."
The Journalist also had to say on what has been offered and and on what Willian wants. He added, "He's been negotiating with Chelsea, he had an offer from them for a one-year option, with reasonably easily triggers involved, which would turn it into a two year deal, but that isn't Sufficient for Willian. But instead, he is looking for a three year deal believing that he is worth that."
The card for Willian right now is that of Frank Lampard's desire to keep the Chelsea winger at Stamford bridge.
Castles added, "In support of his case, Willian has Frank Lampard who regards him as an extremely important player in his squard, because the Chelsea boss like Willian as an individual, he likes his attitude towards the game, he likes his ability and also his tactical flexibility. "
Castles believes that there is another way to go if the agreement is not to be agreed, which is that of Willian leaving the West-London club and look else where.
Castles continued, "The information we have is that the stand off between the two sides is that Willian has basically informed Lampard that he will not be staying at the club he does not see any prospect of the club improving the deal."
So, the question that remains is that of whether Willian is worth a three year deal or not.
Willian has been a great servant for the club even found to be a bit inconsistent at times. He'll be turning 32 years old in August, a long term deal will probably be the longest he'll get of what's left of his career.
It wouldn't be a good idea to let Willian wear a shirt of Chelsea's rivals a long term deal isn't a way to go at the current stage of his career.
